Teaching at the University
of Tuzla

I have been involved in
teaching since 1999, when I started to work at the
Faculty of Technology (University of Tuzla) as a
teaching assistant in chemical engineering. Then, I was
promoted at the same institution to higher positions
(senior assistant, assistant professor, associate
professor and full professor) in chemical engineering as
follows:
-
2017 - : Full Professor
(permanent position)
2011 - 2017: Associate Professor
2006 - 2011: Assistant Professor
2004 - 2006: Senior Assistant
1999 - 2004: Teaching Assistant

Since 2017, I have been
working as a Full Professor in Chemical Engineering at
the Faculty of Technology (University of Tuzla). I
participate in teaching in undergraduate, master's and
doctoral studies in chemical engineering in chemical
engineering subjects related to unit operations,
chemical process design, energy efficiency, process
integration and optimisation.

Chemical Engineering
Laboratory
Students perform laboratory
exercises in the Chemical Engineering Laboratory to
study hydro-mechanical, heat and mass transfer
operations typically known as unit operations.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Software
In addition to laboratory exercises students have
opportunities to perform computer exercises in the
INTERBA Laboratory-Computer Center to learn how
to use different computer-aided tools and software (e.g.
General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS), Aspen Plus,
Heat Exchanger Network Synthesis Analysis and Design
(HENSAD), Capital Cost estimation (CAPCOST), Water
Design, Excel, Visual Basic) to solve various chemical
engineering problems. |

Teaching at other
Universities

I was employed as a visiting
professor in 2014/2015 at the
University of Maribor,
the
Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical
Engineering
(Slovenia) in the project "Internationalization - A
Pillar of Development of the University of Maribor".
At this institution I was elected to the position of
Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering for the
period 2014-2017. I was involved in teaching in
Bachelor's and Master's university degree programmes and
performed teaching in several core chemical engineering
courses (Computer Aided Process Design, Process
Design-Project, Process Optimisation and Process
Synthesis).

In 2018, I was invited to
participate in the project "Involvement of visiting
foreign experts and university teachers in the
pedagogical process as a pillar of quality development
process of internationalisation of the University of
Maribor". In this project, I performed teaching
activities (lectures/exercises) at the
Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical
Engineering in the topics related to Process
optimisation, modelling and solving chemical engineering
problems in GAMS.

I participated in the EM-STEM
programme and Erasmus+ staff mobility for training and
teaching and delivered lectures at the following
Universities:
Lappeenranta University of Technology, September 21,
2012, Lappenranta, Finland. Lecture: Process
Integration: Water and Energy Optimisation in Process
Industry.

Pamukkale University,
Faculty of Engineering, Department of Chemical
Engineering, Denizli, Turkey, May 8-10, 2018. Lecture:
Process optimisation: Introduction and applications in
chemical engineering.
Pamukkale University,
Faculty of Engineering, Department of Chemical
Engineering, Denizli, Turkey, April 3, 2019. Lecture:
Simulation, optimisation and heat integration of single
and multiple-effect evaporation plants.

As a coordinator of the CEEPUS
network "CIII-SI-0708-06-1819-Chemistry and Chemical
Engineering" at the University of Tuzla, the Faculty of
Technology, I was involved in organising the
first short-term CEEPUS excursion
in coordination with the CEEPUS coordinator at the
University of Zagreb,
the
Faculty of Chemical Engineering
and Technology, Prof. Zvjezdana Findrik
Blažević. In this excursion, which was realised in May
29-31, 2019, participated ten students from the
University of Tuzla, the Faculty of Technology as well
as host students. Students had opportunities be involved
in teaching activities, meet each other, exchange their
experience, and present their seminar works. I was
mentoring ten students from the Faculty of Technology in
preparing and delivering their seven seminar works.
Students presented seminar works within the Process
Design course led by host colleague Assistant professor
Igor Dejanoviæ. Also, we discussed about opportunities
to expand our collaboration within the Erasmus+
programme and made initial steps to sign the Erasmus+
agreement between our institutions. I hope that the
realised short-term excursion was beneficial for home
and host students and colleagues of the host institution
and that our participation in the mobility contributed
to the main objectives of the CEEPUS programme and will
strengthen cooperation between home and host
institutions in other programmes and projects.

I have been working at the
University of Zenica, the
Faculty of Metalurgy and
Technology since 2019. I teach master
students in the course Heat and Mass Integration in
Chemical Processes.
